GENErAL TENT INfOrMATION

     Rent or Buy?
Celina services event, catering, entertainment and rental companies in addition to
corporations and governments around the world. Our most frequently asked question
is always “Is it better to rent or buy?” We suggest that if you will be using a tent 3+ per
year it’s advantageous to buy your own. For rental companies, Celina’s durable and
competitively priced tent tops can be paid off in 5 rentals or less!
     What is a Frame Tent?
A frame tent is assembled with tubing such as aluminum or galvanized steel that supports
the fabric top. The rigid framework allows the tent to be free-standing. A frame tent will still
require some type of anchoring system, such as ropes or ratchet straps with stakes to hold
it in place. Frame tents require no center poles, giving the optimum amount of open or clear
     space available.
     What is a Pole Tent?
A pole tent requires a set of poles arranged beneath the vinyl top to support the structure.
The top is tensioned over the poles and attached to anchoring devices (stakes) at
tensioning points around the tent top’s perimeter.
Getting the most out of your tent, canopy, or shelter.

     Drop Cloths
Protecting and keeping your tent fabric clean
can be as easy as one additional step in the
installation process - the use of drop cloths.
Drop cloths are any fabric sheets that are
placed on the ground prior to unfolding a tent
top. This additional layer may not seem like
much, but offers the best protection against
any incidental punctures from small rocks,
sticks, or debris that may be lying in the tent
installation footprint. Since most vinyl will
react to random chemicals, especially oils,
protecting your tent fabric in areas like parking
lots and yards where chemicals may be
     present is a major concern.
                                                   Never drag tent tops
     Pin Holes
Pin Holes are tiny holes that occur when vinyl
encounters sharp objects or when the vinyl
is repetatively folded and the block out layer
stretches allowing light to pass through. In
most cases, tents experience pin holes when
they are placed or dragged on rough surfaces,
creating the tiny tears and punctures. When
installed, pinpoints of lights will show through
because of these holes. This is especially
noticeable on 16 ounce blockout vinyls which,
due to their construction, block most light in
the first place. The use of drop cloths allows
you to prevent the majority of pin holes, which Videos with more information
occur during the installation process. available at GetTent.com!
